Press Release: Information on Corinth Canal’s transit suspension due to landslide

Herewith, we would like to inform our partners and customers that due to the landslide occurred on January 15th, 2021, Corinth Canal will remain unavailable to navigation longer than our initial estimate.

We will revert with new announcement on the estimated restoration time.

Our company AEDIK is intensively collaborating with authorized institutions of experts on geotechnical studies (Hellenic Survey of Geology & Mineral Exploration -H.S.G.M.E. & National and Kapodistrian University of Athens-School of Geology and Geoenvironment), in order to reinforce the Canal’s safety and stability factors with aim to promptly restore the canal’s operation.

We thank our partners and customers for their understanding and patience on this situation we face, and please be reassured that all our efforts primarily aim both on the Canal’s depth restoration and on the Canal’s slopes stability, in order to ensure in the future, the canal operation will continue serving international navigation safely and unimpededly at all times.
