Purpose AEDIK – Property Status AEDIK

The Corinth Canal Societe Anonyme (AEDIK) is an NPID, operates for the public interest according to the rules of the private economy, is under the supervision and control of the Minister of Finance, has been established by Law 1067/1980 as it is valid today and governed by the provisions of this law, the provisions of Law 2190/1920 and Law 4548/2018 on Public Limited Companies, the provisions of Law 3429/2005 on public enterprises insofar as they do not contradict the provisions of Law 4389/2016 on the governance of public enterprises in which the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations S.A (“HCAP”) participates, as well as its Articles of Association.

According to the provisions of Law 4389/2016 and Annex F of this law, The Corinth Canal Societe Anonyme (AEDIK) from 01.01.2018 joined the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations S.A (HCAP). The purpose of the Company as defined by the founding provisions and its Articles of Association, consists in the management and exercise of the rights of the Corinth Canal. In particular, the responsibilities of the Company consist in the study, construction, maintenance, improvement, administration, exploitation and tourism development.

According to article 2 of the founding Law 1067 Government Gazette AD187 / 18.8.1980, the purpose of AEDIK is:

1. A.E.DI.K has the exclusive and transferable rights (hereinafter collectively the “Canal Rights”) of design, construction, maintenance, improvement, organization, administration, operation, exploitation and tourism development:

(a) the Corinth Canal, as well as the floating-sinking bridges located at the entrances of the Isthmia and Poseidonia estuaries after their annexes;

(b) real estate on either side of the Canal, as described in Article 3 hereof, and

(d) Other real estate owned by her.

2. Exclusive purpose of A.E.DI.K. is the exercise and exploitation of the Canal Rights in order to ensure its smooth and continuous operation.
